how/where can i learn to program 4th axis cnc mill on-line?
i’ve never used a 4th axis Rotary Head before but i am fully capable of 3d surfacing and programming up until this point. i could surface something like a “propellar” but don’t know how to use “swarf” machining or a 4th axis head for indexing for even “2D Axial items”…is there somewhere i might be able to get a crash course on the “how to’s” and what to “look for” when a program is posted…or even a recommended book that is specifically dedicated to Multi-axis programming and machining with a Vertical Milling Machine(VMC)?
This is a highly specialized programming question and I haven’t done any CNC programming in about 30 years.

TIP: Check (or call) the VMM manufacturer’s website first. I’d be surprised if they DIDN’T have lots of tutorials. Read the VMM User Manuals, too.
