Mercruiser Drive Bellow Replacement?
Id rather to be dumb then stupid, We are refurbishing a 20 ft,1978 Well craft, all that is left to do is Replace the bellow,s and reseal the out drive, I decided to gain a little more experience and save a couple doller I would tackle the bellow,s I have the new drive bellow,s, now is no time for stupid mistake,s Ive heard 2 different procedure,s for the replacement, I need to know for sure, Ive heard to lubricate the bellow,s for a smoother installation, ans Ive heard to use a Bellow,s glue for a sure seal. The new Bellow,s is Quicksilver not aftermarket.

In the 70′s the book called for a gasket sealer on the bellows. Later years dropped that from the procedure. Some mechanics use lube to slip it on. Neither is necessary, the main issue is to get the boot in the proper position and the hose clamp in the proper place.
