Amp Gfi
I have a dual pole 60 amp gfi spa panel in my house with an exterior disconnect.?
The gfi energizes fine but trips with the load attached with the disconnect both open or closed so I can’t even get power to the tub. What is wrong here?
If you didn’t install the panel, call the person who did.
If you did install the panel:
1. Check your neutral connection at the spa panel and at the main panel.
2. At the spa panel, the neutral (white) conductor to the spa needs to go to the 60A breaker and the white wire (pigtail) from the breaker needs to go to the terminal strip.
3. At the main panel, make sure that the white wire is on the neutral bar if your neutral and ground are isolated.
It sounds like you are not effectively isolating the neutral from the grounding conductor at the load. A gfi breaker performs this duty and if it’s miswired it will trip under load.
